Rwanda Education Project at SUNY Geneseo (Spring 2015)

 

The Rwanda Education Project at SUNY Geneseo is a fund made up of donations from the Sigma Delta Tau Gamma Chi Chapter sorority sisters and Sigma Delta Tau’s fundraising event “Rwanda Go Bowling?” hosted in conjunction with the Sigma Kappa sorority sisters. 

 

The sisters of Sigma Delta Tau personally donated a total of $635.00 in the 2014-2015 academic year to sponsor one student annually.

 

On May 2nd 2015, the “Rwanda Go Bowling?” event raised a total of  $1,414.24.  Eighty-four people enjoyed a subsidized night of bowling, where 5 dollars per person was donated to the Rwanda Education Project. Prizes donated from local businesses were awarded to the evening's winners. In addition, a $250 donation was kindly made by the Kane Firm for food to be sold at the event.  With both food sales and individual donations, we raised a total of $870.00 at the event. 

 

In total, SUNY Geneseo raised $2,049.24 in 2015 for the Rwanda Education Project.
